Bordin Steadyfist

bordinscreen

If you have the Cataclysm portal unlocked, you can quickly go to Deepholm and find a white-bearded dwarf ready to do battle with you.  Many battle pet fights can be very easy once you fight the right pet combination and this one is no exception.

Synopsis: Two of the enemy pets are Elemental, so bring an aquatic to hit ’em hard and smack ’em down.  Apocalypse is less scary than it seems because it take so long to actually activate.  It’s really just a damage free turn for you.

Goal: To defeat the tamer with 2 pets so that a third pet can be carried through for maximum experience gain.

Bordin Steadyfist’s Team

el16 Ruby with el16 Crystal Overload,  el16 Stone Rush, and el16 Spark
Crystallus with be16 Hiss,   Flank, and   Apocalypse
el16
Fracture with  Feedback Amplify Magic, and   Elementium Bolt

Your Team

aq16 Snarly  Rip, aq16 Surge, aq16 Blood in the Water
Carry Pet
aq16 Pandaren Water Spirit – aq16 Water Jet, aq16 Healing Wave, aq16 Dive

Snarly’s your first pet up and there’s not much Ruby can do about it.  Rip, Blood in the Water, Surge.  Hit Crystallus the same way with Rip and Blood in the Water.  Surge fills in the gaps.  Sometimes Snarly makes it all the way to Fracture, and sometimes not.  Swap in your carry pet after Snarly bites the dust, and bring in the Water Spirit to finish off Fracture.  Just make sure you Dive to dodge the incoming Elementium Bolt, and you’ll easily finish him off with a few Water Jets.

Wastewalker Shu

shuscreen

Continuing my effort to have all my 2 pet carry teams in place for leveling and achieving, I give you Wastewalker Shu.

Synopsis: Shu is one of the tougher trainers to get just right because his team has lots of different abilities, buffs, and debuffs.  His team has a heal, a damage reduction weather effect, and a speed boost.  You’ll need just the right combination of pets to bring his team down.

Goal: To defeat the tamer with 2 pets so that a third pet can be carried through for maximum experience gain.

Wastewalker Shu’s Team

aq16 Crusher with aq16 Renewing Mists,  aq16 Surge, and  aq16 Whirlpool
el16 Pounder with  Sandstorm,  el16 Rupture, and  Quake
be16 Mutilator with  Spiked Skin Counterstrike, and   Powerball

Your Team

Spawn of Onyxia –  Tail Sweep,  Healing Flame,  Lift-Off
Carry Pet
aq16 Snarly Rip, aq16 Surge, aq16 Blood in the Water

Start with Onyxia and tail sweep twice.  Use your Healing Flame to heal from the Surge you just got hit with, and then Lift-Off.  You’ll dodge the Whirlpool and the next surge.  Tail Sweep until you have crushed Crusher.  Use your Healing Flame when Pounder comes in and then Tail Sweep three times.  At this point, use Healing Flame again, Lift-Off, and Tail Sweep until and Pounder is toast.  Do what damage you can with your Spawn of Onyxia on Mutilator before it’s dead.  Bring your carry pet in and immediately swap to Snarly to finish off Mutilator.  Rip first, Surge until Mutilator is right above half health and the use Blood in the Water and Surge to finish the fight.

Goz Banefury

gozscreenOut in the Twilight Highlands is an angry orc with some creepy pets.  I’ve solo’d the fight many times with an Emperor Crab, but that gets to be a bit slow.  With my favorite elemental eater Snarly in tow, the fight goes much faster.

Synopsis: Twilight has an annoying ability Dark Rebirth that brings him back from the dead is he gets to cast it.  This causes you to take extra damage before his flame is actually put out.  Snarly hits hard enough to take care of that.  Combine him with a mechanical pet for Helios and the fight becomes fairly easy.

Goal: To defeat the tamer with 2 pets so that a third pet can be carried through for maximum experience gain.

Goz Banefury’s Team

el16 Twilight with el16 Darkflame Laser, and  el16 Dark Rebirth

Amythel with  Creepy Chomp,   Adrenal Glands, and aq16 Creeping Ooze
be16
Helios with  Leech Life,  be16 Brittle Webbing, and  be16 Spiderling Swarm

 Your Team

aq16 Snarly  Rip, aq16 Surge, aq16 Blood in the Water
Carry Pet
 Darkmoon Tonk  –
Charge,  Shock and Awe,  Ion Cannon

Start with Snarly and use Rip then use Blood in the Water.  Surge once to finish Twilight off before he casts his Dark Rebirth.  Amythel is a bit of a crap shoot with damage, so just use Rip to begin, Blood in the Water when it’s up, and Surge as filler.  Amythel may or may not be dead by this point, but your Tonk can easily finish the task with Charge.  Make sure you swap your carry pet in right after Snarly dies, and then swap to Darkmoon Tonk right after.  When Helios comes in use Shock and Awe once and then blast him with your Ion Cannon.

Farmer Nishi: Round 2

nishiscreen

Back from the abyss of leveling 500+ pets I’m back to working on pet battle blogging because I just felt like I was missing something.  I’ve been testing and re-testing all of my MoP strategies to make sure that they are WoD compliant, and I’m happy to say that almost all of them made it through unscathed.  Some of them have turned out even better with the 100% hit change.  To prepare for the incoming “An Awfully Big Adventure” achievement, I’m making sure that I have a 2-pet strategy posted for all of the trainers.  So to that end, here’s my current favorite Farmer Nishi Strategy.

Synopsis: This fight involves the sunlight weather effect and a lot of elemental damage done to your team.  I’ve found that changing the weather makes this fight much more manageable.

Goal: To defeat the tamer with 2 pets so that a third pet can be carried through for maximum experience gain.

Farmer Nishi’s Team

el16 Siren with el16 Photosynthesis,  el16 Sunlight, and  el16 Solar Beam
el16 Toothbreaker with el16 Leech Seed,  el16 Inspiring Song, and el16 Sons of the Root
be16 Brood of Mothallus with  Consume Acidic Goo, and   Burrow

Your Team

aq16 Dancing Water Skimmer – aq16 Water Jet, aq16 Cleansing Rain, aq16 Pump
Carry Pet
aq16 Snarly Rip, aq16 Surge, aq16 Blood in the Water

Start with your Skimmer and cast the preparatory phase of Pump and wait for Siren to change the weather.  Then change the weather back on him by using Cleansing Rain.  Hit him with Pump, charge pump again, and finish him off with a few Water Jets.  You saved your pump to hit Toothbreaker with when he first comes out, so use it.  He’ll cast Sons of the Root and disappear so use this time to renew the Cleansing Rain and prep your Pump to hit again.  Finish him off with Pump and move on to Brood of Mothallus.  You’ll be finished off early in the Brood fight, but just Water Jet and Pump when you can to do some damage.  Bring your low level pet in after your Skimmer dies and immediately swap to Snarly.  Rip, Blood in the Water, and Surge are all lovely finishers.

Wise Mari

mari

Goal: Defeat Tamer with optimal pets

Wise Mari’s Team:

  • Carpe Diem – Grasp, Cleansing Rain, Dreadful Breath
  • Spirus – Arcane Blast, Healing Wave, Soul Ward
  • River – Whirlpool, Pump, Dive

Your Team:

  • Crow with Alpha Strike, Call Darkness, and Nocturnal Strike
  • Scourged Whelpling with Tail Sweep, Death and Decay, and Plagued Blood
  • Snarly with Rip, Surge, and Blood in the Water

Bring your Crow in and destroy Carpe Diem with Alpha Strike, Darkness, Nocturnal Strike, and another Alpha Strike.  Swap to your Whelpling and use Death and Decay because Spirus will likely use Soul Ward.  Then use Plagued Blood and Tail Sweep your tail off.  If you make it to River with some health, congratulations!  You get to do some bonus damage to him.  Do whatever you like because Snarly will 3 shot him whenever you swap him in.  Make sure to Surge before River’s Dive and Rip before you use Blood in the Water.

Chen Stormstout

chenGoal: Defeat Tamer with optimal pets

Chen Stormstout’s Team:

  • Tonsa – Bite, Headbutt, Chew
  • Chirps – Flank, Lullaby, Locust Swarm
  • Brewly – Brew Bolt, Barrel Toss, Inebriate

Your Team:

Lead with the Skywisp Moth and cast Call Lightning and Slicing Wind.  Then block Tonsa’s attack with Cocoon Strike.  Slicing Wind again until Tonsa’s finished.  Chirps will finish off your Moth easily, but then bring in Curious Wolvar Pup.  You should be able to three-shot Chirps with a Maul and two Bites.  Place a Snap Trap down when Brewly is in and do as much damage as you can with Maul and Bite until your pup dies.  When Snarly’s in keep hitting Rip until it hits, and then from my testing Blood in the Water doesn’t have the 25% chance to miss from Inebriate (tried this 5 times and it hit every time).

Other thoughts: You can certainly be a bit more aggressive with the Moth and not use Cocoon Strike.  If you get lucky you may be able to finish off Tonsa a round early.  This doesn’t factor in too much because Chirps will still put you to sleep and setup his opener to kill you (most likely).  Also, don’t worry too much about the weather being a lightning storm going into Chirps’ turn.  He takes 3 rounds jus to gear up to hit you and the storm only lasts 5 rounds now in 5.4.

Farmer Nishi

nishiGoal: Defeat tamer with two level 25 pets and one low level pet for maximum pet experience

Farmer Nishi‘s Team:

  • Siren – Photosynthesis, Solar Beam, Sunlight
  • Toothbreaker – Leech Seed, Inspiring Song, Sons of the Root
  • Brood of Mothallus – Acidic Goo, Consume, Burrow

Your Team:

  • Level 5 pet
  • Snarly – Rip, Surge, Blood in the Water
  • Emperor Crab – Snap, Renewing Mists, Shell Shield

Lead with the level 5 pet and swap to Snarly after the first round. Use Rip, Blood in the Water, and then Surge until Siren’s dead. Swap to Crab and use Shell Shield, then Renewing Mists twice. After your Crab gets hit with Leech Seed swap to Snarly and use Rip, Blood in the Water, and Surge until Toothbreaker’s dead. Use Rip, Surge, then Blood in the Water (in that order) when Brood of Mothallus is out. Even if Snarly dies at this point, finishing off Brood shouldn’t be much trouble. Keep Shell Shield and Renewing Mists up while using Snap to finish him.

Seeker Zusshi

zusshiGoal: Defeat tamer with two level 25 pets and one low level pet for maximum pet experience

Seeker Zusshi’s Team:

  • Diamond – Frost Shock, Frost Nova, Howling Blast
  • Mollus – Acidic Goo, Dive, Absorb
  • Skimmer – Soothe, Cleansing Rain, Pump

Your Team:

  • Level 5 pet
  • Snarly with Rip, Surge, and Blood in the Water
  • Bat with Bite, Screech, and Reckless Strike

Open with Snarly and cast Rip, Blood in the Water, and Surge until Diamond’s dead.  Use Rip then Surge and Blood in the Water with Mollus in the game.  Snarly will usually die when he gets hit with Mollus’ Dive.  Swap to your level pet and cast, then swap to Bat and Bite until Mollus is dead.  Reckless Strike and Bite until Skimmer is dead.  The timing is usually right to have Mollus’ Acidic Goo break you from Soothe so you can finish off Skimmer before he hits you with Pump.
