Deebs, Tyri, & Puzzle

deebstyripuzzlescreen

As part of my series on the Menagerie Daily quests, today you’ll play in the world of Diablo.

Synopsis: Tryi can really hurt and all of your opponents will be very fast.  As with several strategies, using the weather effects against them will be the key to their undoing.

Goal: To defeat the tamer with 2 pets so that a third pet can be carried through for maximum experience gain.

Deebs, Tyri, & Puzzle

ma16 Deebs with ma16 Blast of Hatred, ma16 Weakness, and un16 Bone Prison
Tyri with  Omnislash,  Call Darkness, and  Surge of Light
Puzzle with ma16 Coin Toss,  Dodge, and ma16 Portal

Your Team

Scourged Whelpling –  Tail Sweep,  Death and Decay,  Plagued Blood
Carry Pet
Ghostly Skull –  Shadow Slash, ma16 Spectral Strike,  Siphon Life

As with many of the menagerie dailies, there are abilities that the enemy team uses that hits your back line.  You’ll need just over 300 health to survive it.

Start off with your Whelpling and use Plagued Blood and then Death and Decay.  Keep using Tail Sweep until Deebs is toast.  When Tyri comes in you’ll usually only get 1 ability off before you’re stunned and dead, so make it Plagued Blood to be healing your next pet.  If you happen to get a chance at another ability just refresh Death and Decay.  Swap your level pet in, and then swap it right back out for the Ghostly Skull.  Use Spectral Strike and then Shadow Slash.  Most of the time Tyri will be dead by now.  Use Siphon Life 3 times (because the first 2 will miss), and then Shadow Slash away.  Puzzle will be gone in a few rounds.

Additional Note:  If you’re having trouble bringing Tyri down in a reasonable about of time, you can wait to bring in and out your carry pet until after Tyri’s dead.  The first two rounds of fighting Puzzle are useless to you anyway.

Lorewalker Cho: Plushie Round

Synopsis: There are lots of preparatory abilities on Cho’s team, so take you can take advantage of them by hitting them hard before they use them.

Goal: To defeat the tamer with 2 pets so that Elekk Plushie can be carried through the fight.

Lorewalker Cho’s Team

Wisdom with  Peck,  ma16 Wild Magic, and  Rip
ma16 Patience with hu16 Broom,   Tranquility, and  ma16 Clean-Up
Knowledge with  Tail Sweepma16 Amplify Damage, and   Solar Beam

Your Team

ma16 Nordrassil Wisp  – ma16 Light, ma16 Flash, hu16 Soul Ward
Scourged Whelpling –  Tail Sweep, hu16 Call Darkness,  Plagued Blood
ma16 Elekk Plushie

Bring the Wisp in first and tear up Wisdom by using Soul Ward, Flash, and then Light.  You’ll have to pass a turn because all of your abilities will be on cooldown, but then just repeat the same rotation and Wisdom will be finished.  Keep the same rotation until the Wisp dies.  Your Scourged Whelping should be able to finish off Patience and Knowledge just fine.  Save Call Darkness for Knowledge because it does a ton of damage.  Having an guaranteed extra round on the Whelpling because he’s undead should save you from unlucky crits.

Wrathion: Plushie Round

Synopsis: Wrathion has a fun looking group of pets flying behind him.  Cindy does annoying damage if you leave her up too long, and Alex can be tough to get down because he has so much health and has a heal on top of it.  Also, watch out for Dah’da’s Elementium Bolt, because it will stun you at very vulnerable times.

Goal: To defeat the tamer with 2 pets so that Elekk Plushie can be carried through the fight.

Wrathion’s Team

Cindy with  Diseased Bite,  el16 Blistering Cold, and el16 Ice Tomb
Alex with  Breath,   Ancient Blessing, and  el16 Flame Thrower
Dah’da with  Shadowflame Roll, and   Elementium Bolt

Your Team

Black Lamb  (h/p, h/s, h/b)-  Chew,  Comeback,  Stampede
Scourged Whelpling –  Tail Sweep, hu16 Call Darkness, hu16 Dreadful Breath
ma16 Elekk Plushie

First off, a word about the Black Lamb.  You should be able to use any critter pet with Chew and a damage double-r effect like Gu’chi Swarmling or Elwynn Lamb, provided that you have at least 1500 health.  Don’t use Beasts with similar abilities like Little Black Ram, because they don’t have the stun immunity that a critter does.

Starting with your Black Lamb, use Chew and then Stampede.  The double damage buff will hit Cindy for 1000+ damage, and finish her off easily.  Your Stampede will end after Cindy has had her free undead round.  Alex will come in next and the first thing he’ll do is heal, so you have a chance to repeat the same combo that you did for Cindy.  Use Chew and then Stampede again.  After Alex turns your lamb into a chop with her Breath a couple of times, bring in Scourged Whelpling.  Use Call Darkness right away for big damage and then Dreadful Breath until Alex is dead.  Dreadful Breath will be hitting Dah’da as well, so when he comes in he’ll be half health or lower.  You should be able to finish off Dah’da with a Tail Sweep, Call Darkness and one turn of Dreadful Breath.

Lorewalker Cho

choGoal: Defeat Tamer with optimal pets

Lorewalker Cho’s Team:

  • Wisdom – Peck, Wild magic, Rip
  • Patience – Broom, Tranquility, Clean-Up
  • Knowledge – Tail Sweep, Amplify Magic, Solar Beam

Your Team:

Bring the Wisp in first and tear up Wisdom by using Soul Ward, Flash, and then Light.  You’ll have to pass a turn because all of your abilities will be on cooldown, but then just repeat the same rotation and Wisdom will be finished.  This is the part where there’s no exact rotation, but depending on how the fight goes you’ll have to make the call on what to use.  I had the Wisp kill both Wisdom and Patience, and I’ve had Patience finish the Wisp off without being damaged.  The Wisp will easily finish off Wisdom though.

Use the Scourged Whelpling to bring down Patience.  Plagued Blood with a few Tail Sweeps does the trick every time.  Call Darkness is a bonused ability against Knowledge, so use it before you die.  The Darkness debuff will help out your Ghostly Skull to finish off Knowledge, too.  Spectral Spike when you can (always hits, because the target is considered blind due to Darkness), and use Siphon Life and Death Coil to keep yourself alive (or undead, as the case may be).

Aki the Chosen: Round 2

akichosenThere’s always different pets and different solutions to the pet tamers, and so I’m always looking for better or more fun ways to beat them.  I also know that this team is a bit advanced because it includes a Celestial Tournament pet, but it makes the fight so much more bearable than using a Crab to Heal/diminish hits forever.

Aki the Chosen‘s Team:

  • Chirrup – Swarm, Nature’s Touch, Inspiring Song
  • Stormlash – Call Lightning, Tail Sweep, Roar
  • Whiskers – Surge, Survival, Dive

Goal: Defeat tamer with two level 25 pets and one low level pet for maximum pet experience

Your Team:

Lead with Zao and use his Charge, then Wish, and then Horn Gore until Chirrup’s dead.  Swap to the Scourged Whelpling and change the weather to Darkness, use Plagued Blood, and then Tail Sweep until Stormlash is finished.  Keep doing damage to Whiskers with Tail Sweep until your Whelpling is dead and then use Plagued Blood on your last Undead freebie turn.  Swap your level pet in and take a Surge to the face.  Then back to Zao to finish off Whiskers.  Time Niuzao’s Charge with Dive and you’ll be fine.

Wise Mari

mari

Goal: Defeat Tamer with optimal pets

Wise Mari’s Team:

  • Carpe Diem – Grasp, Cleansing Rain, Dreadful Breath
  • Spirus – Arcane Blast, Healing Wave, Soul Ward
  • River – Whirlpool, Pump, Dive

Your Team:

  • Crow with Alpha Strike, Call Darkness, and Nocturnal Strike
  • Scourged Whelpling with Tail Sweep, Death and Decay, and Plagued Blood
  • Snarly with Rip, Surge, and Blood in the Water

Bring your Crow in and destroy Carpe Diem with Alpha Strike, Darkness, Nocturnal Strike, and another Alpha Strike.  Swap to your Whelpling and use Death and Decay because Spirus will likely use Soul Ward.  Then use Plagued Blood and Tail Sweep your tail off.  If you make it to River with some health, congratulations!  You get to do some bonus damage to him.  Do whatever you like because Snarly will 3 shot him whenever you swap him in.  Make sure to Surge before River’s Dive and Rip before you use Blood in the Water.
